Printing fastness has always been a technical difficulty for nylon fabric manufacturers, especially when pigment printing is carried out on waterproof nylon fabric, the fastness is always difficult to reach the required technical level. In fact, the fastness of nylon cloth printing is influenced by many factors such as printing materials, i.e., types of nylon cloth. Therefore, when studying the fastness, we must analyze the printing adaptability of different printing materials, select the most suitable printing ink and other materials, and pay attention to the operation technology, so as to ensure the printing effect.
Relationship between fiber characteristics and printing fastness of nylon fabric. Different from natural fibers, nylon or polyester fibers belong to synthetic fibers. Their basic characteristics are very compact molecular structure, little or no water absorption, and the fiber surface feels very smooth. Therefore, pigment printing paste can't go deep into the fiber, but only adhere to the fiber surface of fabric. Its fastness depends entirely on the adhesion of adhesive (resin) to fiber surface and the mechanical properties of resin film itself. Therefore, the printing fastness of nylon or polyester fabrics is far behind that of natural fibers.
