The lightweight nylon fabric has high strength, wear-resistance and good rebound resilience, and can be spun and blended to make various clothing and knitwear. The main varieties are nylon 6 and nylon 66, with similar physical properties. Nylon has better hygroscopicity and dyeability than polyester. Nylon is alkali-resistant but not acid-resistant. Its fiber strength will decrease after long-term exposure to sunlight. Lightweight nylon fabric has heat setting property and can keep bending deformation formed during heating.

What are the characteristics of lightweight nylon fabric?

1. Nylon has strong performance and good wear resistance, ranking first among all fibers. Nylon's wear resistance is 10 times that of cotton fiber, 10 times that of dry viscose fiber and 140 times that of wet fiber, so its durability is excellent.

2. Nylon fabric has excellent elasticity and elastic recovery, but it is easy to deform under small external force, so its fabric is easy to wrinkle during wearing.

3. Nylon fabric has better hygroscopicity among synthetic fiber fabrics, so the clothes made of nylon are more comfortable than polyester clothes. Nylon's heat and light resistance are not good enough. The ironing temperature should be controlled below 140℃.

4. Pay attention to washing and maintenance conditions during wearing and using to avoid damaging fabrics. Nylon fabric is a light fabric, which is only listed after polypropylene fiber and acrylic fiber in synthetic fiber fabric. Therefore, nylon is suitable for making mountaineering clothing, winter clothing, etc.
