As one of the problems frequently encountered in lightweight nylon fabric, printing fastness has always been a technical difficulty in the industry, especially when pigment printing is carried out on waterproof nylon fabrics, the fastness is always difficult to reach the required technical level. In fact, the color fastness of nylon fabric printing is influenced by many factors such as the type of nylon fabric. Therefore, when studying the color fastness of nylon fabric, it is necessary to analyze the printing adaptability of different materials, select the most suitable ink and other materials, and pay attention to the operation technology to ensure the printing effect.
Different from natural fibers, nylon or polyester fibers belong to synthetic fibers. Their basic characteristics are very compact molecular structure, little or no water absorption, and the fiber surface feels very smooth. Therefore, pigment printing paste can't go deep into the fiber, but only adhere to the fiber surface of the fabric. Its fastness depends entirely on the adhesion of adhesive (resin) to fiber surface and the mechanical properties of resin film itself. Therefore, the printing fastness of nylon or polyester fabrics is far behind that of natural fibers.
